Fabulous, fabulous post. And what makes us do this? Mental illness? A genetic problem? Maybe we're from another planet, or we're just gluttons for punishment.

And still, we persist. You have to have ballz of steel, for sure.

So I just spent the most wonderful hour on my WIP, and now I remember the great torture offset: When the story's going well, the craft itself is rewarding, and entertaining. You keep going, you keep working, you keep dreaming.
